As a home funeral guide, I will offer education and support for initial grief. Defining both celebration and grief as necessary and real feelings/emotions is an essential part of loved ones moving through their goodbye journey. Support systems within the community will be provided.
Family directed after care may include the following:
- Family centered after death care
- Allows family and loved ones time and opportunity to say goodbye, either in home or previously defined place of honor
- Supports family with after death body care
- Supports family in ceremonial rituals
- Offer ideas and support in planning caskets, urns, shrouds or other body enclosures
- Provides education on choices for disposition of the body
